Santa Ursular is some 7 miles inland from Puerto de la Cruz, in the north of Tenerife, very close to Tenerife North Airport. Santa Cruz de Tenerife is 14 miles away. The town is named after Saint Ursular, the English saint.
Santa Ursular is described as a resort, although it is situated inland, with the nearest beach more than two miles away. Nearly 300 metres above sea level, the resort has spectacular views of Mount Tiede and the Atlantic Ocean.
The town is a very pleasant, historic place, in the centre of an agricultural and wine growing area. Santa Ursular is popular as a restful base for exploring the rest of the Island.
Access to Puerto de la Cruz and Santa Cruz de Tenerife is easy. There are regular bus services to Puerto de la Cruz, and Santa Cruz is a 20 minute journey by car.
The town is very popular with Spanish visitors.
The Loro Park attraction in Puerto de la Cruz is close, as are the other facilities and attractions. Many visitors to Santa Ursular take walking holidays into the Mount Tiede National Park, and the Orotova Valley.
There is a good selection of bars and restaurants, and visitor can also dine in Puerto de la Cruz. The Canarian cuisine here is traditional, and highly enjoyable.The town is very popular with Spanish visitors. This is a smart and sophisticated base from which to enjoy the Island.
