Tenerife Resorts - Puerto Colon
Wednesday, 11th November 2009
Puerto Colon is in fact part of Playa de las America, but far more sophisticated. There is a coastal path that will take you to Fanabe beach and Playa de las Americas, and you can enjoy the bars, pubs and restaurants than line the path. Costa Adeje is also close by.
The main beach is Playa de la Pinta, which is a lovely sandy beach, and with shallow water very safe for children. There are various other beaches nearby.
The Marina is the focal point of the resort, and offers every kind of water sports, as well as boat and fishing trips. Whale spotting trips are extremely popular. Many expensive yauchts, including some for charter, are moored in the Marina, which is the largest in the South of the Island and has a capacity to moor over 350 boats.
There is a good shopping, with some up market designer label shops. Restaurants are excellent, serving high quality food, mainly Canarian and sea food. This is a lovely, tranquil resort in its own right, just a step away from many other resorts.
