Tenerife Resorts - Los Cristianos

The resort of Los Cristianos is next door to Playa de las Americas, on the South Coast. Tenerife South airport is only 9 miles away. Los Cristianos is also close to the sophisticated resort of Costa Adeje.

The resort is prettier and quieter than Playa de las Americas. As a result many families and older visitors prefer to come here, in the knowledge that the more frenetic entertainment of Playa de las Americas is only a short walk away.

Los Cristianos was originally a fishing port, and remains a working fishing and Ferry port. The tourist resort was developed around the port area.

The centre of the town is at the Bay of Los Cristianos, where the visitor will find many shopping opportunities.

There are two exceptional beaches, the Playa de Los Cristianos and the Playa de la Las Vistas, both delightful golden sandy beaches. There is also a natural volcanic sand beach, and various others dotted around.

Restaurants are generally of a higher standard than Playa de las Americas. There is the usual array of fast food establishments, but also a wide range of good restaurants, including several of a very high standard. The range of cuisine available matches, or betters, that of Playa de las Americas.

Nightlife in Los Cristianos is widely available, but much less noisy than Playa de las Americas. There are pubs and bars, and a good selection of clubs. Those looking for excitement usually walk over to Playa de las Americas.

There are lots of places to enjoy, especially the kids, including the Octopus Aquapark, Parque las Aquillas, and the Camel Park. The new Siam Park waterpark near Costa Adeje is nearby, and a must see. There are safari trips, island tours and boat and fishing trips, and from Playa de las Americas.

There is also a ferry service to Gomera.
