Tenerife Resorts - Golf Del Sur

Golf Del Sur is a small resort, close to Tenerife South Airport, and the resorts of Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos. As you can probably work out from the name, this is a resort primarily for golfing enthusiasts.
There are several first class golf courses in the vicinity, including the world famous Golf Del Sur. The Tenerife Open is held here, and has been won by Jose Maria Olazabal. Other top golfers have played here, including Phil Mickelson of the United States.
The town is charming and relaxing, and has a good selection of bars and restaurants. Fish and sea food restaurants are the town’s speciality. There is also a marina and a very good shopping centre.
Nightlife is fun, but obviously not as extensive as neighbouring resorts.
There is a man made beach near the Marina, but the fantastic beaches of Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos are just a short ride away. There are lots of taxis available, and a local bus service. It is perfectly possible to stroll to these resorts; the journey will take around half an hour at the most. The motorway is also close by, enabling visitors who hire a car to explore the Tenerife at their leisure.
There are lots of invigorating walks along cliff paths, with marvellous views.
El Medano is less than ten minutes by car for those who want to try their hand at windsurfing.
For visitors who want to play Golf, have accommodation in a nice, quiet location, but with easy access to the larger resorts, or as a base to explore Tenerife, then Golf Del Sur fits the bill. For non-Golfers, the resort is a perfect base to enjoy a lovely holiday and as a base to enjoy the Island.
